{"id":480160,"date":"2026-03-17T09:47:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T09:47:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/480160\/"},"modified":"2026-03-17T09:47:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T09:47:07","slug":"concern-as-thames-water-pumps-sewage-into-river-for-six-weeks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/480160\/","title":{"rendered":"Concern as Thames Water pumps sewage into river for six weeks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Residents have spoken of their concerns after a sewage treatment plant discharged untreated waste into a brook for more than six weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Between 15 January to 3 March, Ampney St Peter released sewage into the Ampney Brook, which flows into the River Thames near Cirencester. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Limited amounts of sewage are allowed to be discharged during periods of excess rain, but campaigners fear the current levels pose a threat to wildlife and swimmers&#8217; health.
