\n Balding will visit Rossiter Books in Church Street on September 17, from 12.30pm for a book-signing event.\n<\/p>\n
\n The broadcast journalist and presenter will be\u00a0signing her previously published books and her new novel, Pastures New.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u00a0Balding grew up in the countryside surrounded by horses and dogs, and reading everything from Jilly Cooper to Henry James.\n<\/p>\n
\n Her autobiography, \u2018My Animals and Other Family\u2019, won the National Book Award for Autobiography of the Year.\n<\/p>\n

\n A keen rider, she competed as an amateur flat jockey during her teenage years, winning Champion Lady Rider in 1990.\n<\/p>\n
\n After an English Literature degree at Cambridge, she became a journalist.\n<\/p>\n
\n Alongside her award-winning sports broadcasting and coverage of major Royal events, she\u00a0hosts her much-loved Ramblings series on Radio 4, taking her across the British Isles exploring its landscape and its storytelling.\n<\/p>\n
\n A “passionate” campaigner for equality and women\u2019s sport, she\u00a0was awarded a CBE for her services to Sport and Charity in 2022, which she was honoured to receive at Buckingham Palace.\n<\/p>\n
