Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard <\/a>has made a claim about Newcastle United<\/a> that may catch Reds supporters off guard. In an interview with TNT Sports<\/a>, Gerrard discussed a wide range of topics, reflecting on his favourite memories at Anfield and the toughest opponents he faced there.<\/p>\n One of the stops he made at Anfield was the away dressing room, where he revealed that Newcastle are his second Premier League team. Isak was initially left out of Newcastle’s pre-season tour of Asia, and Liverpool’s \u00a3110million bid was rejected soon after.<\/a><\/p>\n The Swede had informed the club he wanted to leave, leading to him training alone<\/a> and missing Newcastle’s league opener against Aston Villa.<\/a> He then released a bombshell statement<\/a>, declaring that ‘promises have been broken’ and ‘trust has been lost’ between player and club.<\/p>\n Newcastle were said to be open to his departure and began exploring the terms of a potential sale, namely bringing in two replacements and securing an acceptable fee, with Liverpool in active negotiations. Time to recover and support from the sideline.
