The new PS5 Pro firmware update<\/a> is available now, adding a toggle which forces PSSR 2<\/a> upscaling into all compatible games.<\/p>\n

While several titles, like Resident Evil Requiem<\/a> and Silent Hill F<\/a>, have been updated to natively take advantage of the feature, this universal switch will ensure all supported software benefits from it.<\/p>\n

While Sony generally anticipates good results, it can be turned off if you notice any inconsistencies or errors.<\/p>\n

But the early feedback is excellent, with fans on the forum ResetEra<\/a> overjoyed with the improvements thus far.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis thing is finally living up to its promise,\u201d one said, praising the improvements to Resident Evil Village\u2019s<\/a> already solid high framerate mode.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve yet to see any real criticism of any of the games utilising the new feature.<\/p>\n

Resident Evil 4\u2019s<\/a> excellent remake is said to be much better with the toggle enabled, while commentary around Kingdom Come Deliverance 2<\/a> notes its foliage is \u201ccompletely fixed\u201d.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re still eager to do our own testing, of course, and we\u2019ll be keeping an eye out for expert analysis from the likes of Digital Foundry<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But so far, so good \u2013 it looks like Sony\u2019s knocked this out of the park.<\/p>\n
