Learn more<\/a> <\/p>\n A whopping 20 players withdrew from the men\u2019s and women\u2019s Miami Open singles draws just days before the tournament gets underway. Over the weekend, the likes of Holger Rune, Barbora Krejcikova and Marketa Vondrousova had given up their spot, but since then, even bigger names have followed.<\/p>\n The most notable being record Grand Slam champion, Novak Djokovic, who won\u2019t be competing for a seventh Miami Open title<\/a>. Meanwhile, from a British perspective, Emma Raducanu won\u2019t be taking part in the Florida-based tournament.<\/p>\n Both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s draws feature 96 players each, with the main draw action for the women getting underway on Tuesday before the men follow on Wednesday. Djokovic appeared exhausted at the end of the clash, but did say he felt proud of himself for lasting the distance during the two-and-a-half-hour match.<\/p>\n Speaking on court, he remarked: \u201c[I have] a bitter feeling right now, losing a match like this. But proud of myself for fighting and really giving it all on the court. That’s for sure.<\/p>\n \u201cThat’s the one thing that I’ll take as a highlight. Just the fact of not giving up and trying. I lost to a great player, and it was really such an even match throughout the entire two-and-a-half hours.
