The Spice Girls<\/a> have pulled the plug on plans for an upcoming reunion \u2013 and for a reason.<\/p>\n Melanie C<\/a>, Emma Bunton<\/a>, Mel B<\/a>, Geri Halliwell-Horner<\/a>, and even Victoria Beckham<\/a> had been planning to reunite the beloved 00s girl group in honour of their 30th anniversary.<\/p>\n But the Wannabe stars have failed to reach an agreement to go ahead <\/a>with a tour reunion to mark the milestone, with a source close to the band telling Metro that it\u2019s \u2018not happening any time soon\u2019.<\/p>\n \u2018Now isn\u2019t the right time for a reunion. They would want it to be a huge event, with no drama overshadowing it.<\/p>\n \u2018Victoria and David\u2019s feud with Brooklyn<\/a> is all people can talk about, and it would no doubt cast a shadow over a tour, if she were to even be involved in the first place,\u2019 the insider said.<\/p>\n \u2018There are so many big musicians touring this year like the Pussycat Dolls <\/a>and Harry Styles<\/a>, and, while an announcement would be exciting for fans, they would want this to be the biggest global event of the year to top all the others. There just hasn\u2019t been enough planning as to what they would even want to do this time around.<\/p>\n \t\t \t\t \u2018While the girls have had their ups and downs between them, there\u2019s no drama at the moment which would prevent them from reuniting \u2013 they talk all the time and love spending time with each other still.<\/p>\n They added: \u2018They\u2019ve reunited before and it would be incredible to do it again; it\u2019s just not happening any time soon.\u2019<\/p>\n It comes after\u00a0Brooklyn\u00a0shared an explosive statement full of allegations <\/a>against his family earlier this year where he accused them of putting \u2018Brand\u00a0Beckham\u2019 above all else.<\/p>\n He went on to accuse his parents of controlling narratives in the press and \u2018trying endlessly to ruin\u2019his relationship with Nicola Peltz<\/a>\u00a0Beckham\u00a0ahead of their wedding in 2022.<\/p>\n Melanie C previously fuelled excitement about a potential reunion after talking about their last time on stage back in 2019 for the Spice World Tour, a 13-date stadium tour<\/a> across the UK <\/p>\n She later revealed how the group had been discussing marking their upcoming 30th anniversary together in 2026.<\/p>\n \u2018We toured in 2019, we did a few stadium shows in the UK and it was incredible,\u2019 Mel said on Good Morning America.<\/p>\n \u2018We\u2019re just so proud of the legacy that we have and we have fans now from new generations are just loving the Spice Girls so I would like to get back on stage with the girls.<\/p>\n \t\t \t\t \t\t\t\tWhy The Spice Girls shouldn’t tour again \t\t\t<\/p>\n Metro\u2019s Deputy Entertainment Editor Alana Anderson shares her thoughts. 22 years earlier I had seen them in the exact same venue of Wembley Stadium, and this time around, even without Victoria on stage, it was pretty spectacular.<\/p>\n Swigging \u00a325 cocktails while belting out their classic hits, it felt like a real full-circle moment for my transition from a Sporty Spice obsessed tot into adulthood.<\/p>\n It was an emotional (and nostalgic) night for anyone who grew up listening to the band, and plenty of fans in the crowd were visibly moved to tears as fireworks erupted from the open roof during Wannabe.<\/p>\n And who wouldn\u2019t want to experience that again?<\/p>\n The Spice Girls and their legacy has become so embedded into the fabric of British culture that we don\u2019t need to keep revisiting their golden years and hoping it\u2019ll get better each time. In fact, it becomes tedious when bands do this every 5 or so years just for the sake of it.<\/p>\n There needs to be an actual desire to do it, which doesn\u2019t seem to be the case for all five members.<\/p>\n As much as I would love to see them again before they (or I) inevitably get too old for concerts, it feels too soon since their last tour to be back on stage again. The buzz isn\u2019t there at the moment.<\/p>\n A reunion doesn\u2019t have to coincide with an anniversary necessarily, but I think it\u2019s time to accept that it won\u2019t happen for their 30th. And that\u2019s perfectly okay.<\/p>\n \u2018We\u2019re talking and we\u2019re seeing what opportunities are out there. The thing that stops us is we feel so precious about it, we want to make sure it\u2019s the right thing and agree on the right thing.\u2019<\/p>\n While she\u2019s now confirmed the group won\u2019t be performing anytime soon, they did reunite recently to support Victoria for the release of her new Netflix<\/a> series.<\/p>\n Geri, Emma, and Melanie C, with whom she was part of the Spice Girls from 1994 until their split in 2000, were all at the premiere.<\/p>\n But not in attendance was their bandmate Mel B, who Victoria explained she had a confrontation with years ago in her documentary.<\/p>\n In one scene, the fashion designer spoke about an interaction during their 2007 Return of the Spice Girls tour.<\/p>\n \u2018One of the girls actually said to me \u2013 and it did upset me \u2013 it was Melanie B who said to me, \u201cDon\u2019t forget where you come from\u201d,\u2019 she told the camera.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018I have never forgotten where I\u2019ve come from. I\u2019ve never ever forgotten that Posh Spice is the reason why I\u2019m sitting here. She might have been grumpy, but she was actually great,\u2019 she added.<\/p>\n Speaking about returning to performing during that time, Victoria said that while it was \u2018good to be back\u2019, that tour made her realise she \u2018didn\u2019t belong on stage\u2019.<\/p>\n She added of the idea of touring again: \u2018It would be tempting. But could I take on a world tour? No I can\u2019t.
