Reuters <\/a>report that the Old Trafford club are in advanced talks to sign Guimaraes in a deal worth \u00a369m.<\/p>\n The Magpies were knocked out of the Champions League this week and are unlikely to qualify for the competition next season, paving the way for the 28-year-old\u2019s exit. His compatriot, Casemiro, has already announced he will leave United this summer and has reportedly personally recommended Guimaraes as his midfield successor, citing his experience and leadership.<\/p>\n It is claimed that initial contacts suggest mutual interest could offer a smooth path towards an agreement.
