Today\u2019s Alexander Isak update<\/p>\n

Another day, another instalment in the ongoing Alexander Isak saga that must be wearing thin in the north east.<\/p>\n

The striker was told to report<\/a> to the training ground after his teammates and their families had gone home on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Newcastle<\/a>\u2018s search for a replacement took a hit, with Benjamin Sesko reportedly<\/a> choosing Man United<\/a> over the Magpies after the former bid \u00a374 million for his services.<\/p>\n

They haven\u2019t yet finalised a deal with RB Leipzig, however.<\/p>\n

In terms of options that Eddie Howe could now turn to, the Telegraph<\/a> said that Chelsea<\/a>\u2018s Nicolas Jackson \u201cfeatures highly on his list of forward targets.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finally, north east journalist Lee Ryder wrote on X<\/a>: \u201cLFC have had every encouragement to put in another bid for Alexander Isak now. <\/p>\n

The signs are beginning to point towards another official bid from Liverpool, but without Newcastle<\/a> lining up a certain replacement, this drawn out series of events is likely to drag on into the new season.<\/p>\n

Darwin Nunez transfer close<\/p>\n

Nunez has taken a step closer to leaving Liverpool, the Reds now agreeing a fee with Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal according to several journalists.<\/p>\n

Sky Sports<\/a> reported that the fee will be comprised of an initial \u00a346.2 million plus up to \u00a310.4m in add-ons, which would take the total price to \u00a356.6m.<\/p>\n

In addition, Fabrizio Romano revealed<\/a> the contract to be three years in length, lasting until June 2028.<\/p>\n

While about \u00a350m seems a good sum to receive for a striker who scored just five Premier League<\/a> goals last season, the Reds could have got \u00a360m for him from Al-Nassr in January.<\/p>\n

However, who knows how the season may have played out without Nunez\u2019s late goals against Brentford<\/a> to secure three points at a crucial moment in the campaign? <\/p>\n
