Leo DiCaprio\u00a0made headlines for bringing his model girlfriend,\u00a0Vittoria Ceretti, to the Oscars on Sunday night, but one of his other guests flew under the radar.<\/p>\n

Todd Graves\u00a0\u2014 the self-made Raising Cane\u2019s billionaire \u2014 was at the Academy Awards with DiCaprio, we hear. While the chicken finger mogul only said he was at the awards with a friend, comic\u00a0Matt Friend\u00a0interviewed Graves on the red carpet and hinted, \u201cIf we can mention this person, I\u2019d say you\u2019re with a certain actor who, I think, sounds like this\u2026 \u2018I wanna thank\u00a0Marty Scorsese, I wanna thank\u00a0Alejandro I\u00f1\u00e1rritu. Climate change is real!\u201d Graves discreetly responded without naming DiCaprio, \u201cI hope he gets a win tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n
By Wednesday, Graves was out of his tux and in a Raising Cane\u2019s T-shirt mere feet from where the red carpet arrivals had been on Hollywood Blvd. He was giving a preview of the 1,000th location of his chain that just happens to be in the same Ovation complex as the Oscars.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wish we were open that night,\u201d Graves told me at his latest location. \u201cBecause I would\u2019ve had everybody come here.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Graves\u2019 story would certainly make an Oscar-worthy film. The Louisiana entrepreneur recalled at his new Hollywood spot how he\u2019d lived in LA before making his fortune as a \u201cboilermaker\u201d operating equipment at oil refineries for 90 to over 100 hours per week. \u201cI worked for a refinery in El Segundo, and I also worked for a refinery in Torrance,\u201d he said, adding he resided at a motel \u201cwhere you could rent by the month or rent by the hour.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

He even had his battered hard hat from his old job by his side.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Graves got the nickname \u201cHollywood\u201d at the refinery when he took a day off after seven weeks to see the sites along the Walk of Fame. He then worked on an Alaskan fishing boat before opening the first Raising Cane\u2019s (named after his dog) in Baton Rouge circa 1996.<\/p>\n
Today he\u2019s worth a reported $22 billion and lives next door to his buddy DiCaprio in a $23 million Hollywood Hills mansion.<\/p>\n
Graves told us he\u2019ll pen a book when the time is right. As far as a film adaptation, \u201cIf somebody wanted to take a chance on that, maybe I\u2019d get DiCaprio to play that role.\u201d<\/p>\n

He\u2019s played himself on ABC\u2019s \u201cShark Tank,\u201d and two of the businesses in which he took stakes have spiked 1,000% and 600% in sales, he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
