Bergerac is returning to our screens and it’s sooner than you think. Set and filmed in Jersey, the first season debuted to glowing reviews and currently holds a 100% positive score on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>. <\/p>\n

In season 2, Damien Molony (The Split, Brassic) returns as the complex Jim Bergerac \u2013 a brilliant detective grappling with life as a recovering alcoholic and widower. The new season will be available to stream on U<\/a> and U&DRAMA on 16 April. <\/p>\n

Molony is joined by returning cast members Zo\u00eb Wanamaker as Charlie Hungerford, Big Boys’ Robert Gilbert as Barney Crozier, and Chlo\u00e9 Sweetlove (The Crow Girl) as Kim Bergerac.<\/p>\n

New cast members<\/a> include familiar face Adrian Edmondson as Nigel, a charming new presence in Charlie\u2019s life, as well as Red Eye’s Lesley Sharp as Monica, Turlough Convery as Michael, and Hijack’s Camilla Beeput as Nicola. <\/p>\n

The series’ synopsis reads: “Series 2 will see Jim Bergerac (Molony) starting to put his life back together, while his mother-in-law Charlie Hungerford (Wanamaker) has a new man in her life. Jim\u2019s even tentatively dating, with Kim\u2019s (Sweetlove) encouragement, although it\u2019s a big step for him. <\/p>\n

“But then he meets Nicola (Beeput), a visitor to Jersey, and they connect. Could this be the start of something for Jim? However, before the relationship even has time to blossom, Jim is pulled back into his next big case. <\/p>\n

“When the groom at a wedding reception on the island is found murdered in his hotel room, the wedding party comes under intense suspicion and scrutiny. Jim will have to decipher the victim\u2019s cryptic last words from his speech if he is ever going to bring the killer to justice. <\/p>\n

“And when Jim starts to unravel old secrets, more skeletons come to light, making this his most intricate case yet.” <\/p>\n

Only time will tell if season 2 lives up to the critical acclaim of the first season. <\/p>\n

Bergerac season 1 is currently available to watch on U. Season 2 debuts 16 April.<\/p>\n
