A woman has died, and four others have been injured following a two-car crash on the A1.<\/p>\n

A Renault Austral and a Land Rover Defender were involved in a collision near Torness Power Station around 9.05am on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The female front passenger of the Austral was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver and rear passenger were taken to hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

The male driver of the Defender was also taken to hospital.<\/p>\n

The road was closed in both directions for seven hours to allow for investigations to be carried out.<\/p>\n

Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.<\/p>\n

Sergeant Barry Sommerville of the Road Policing Unit said: \u201cOur thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who sadly died.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur enquiries are continuing, and I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe road reopened at 4.15pm on Saturday, March 21, 2026. I want to thank members of the public for their patience while we investigated this serious crash.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0753 of March 21, 2026.<\/p>\n
