The pop star, 28, said that it was not her personal security guard who confronted Jude Law and Catherine Harding’s daughter at a hotel in São Paulo, Brazil, despite claims made by the girl’s stepdad and Brazilian soccer player Jorginho Frello.

“I’m just gonna tell my half of the story of what happened today with a mother and child who were involved with a security guard who was not my personal security,” Roan said in a video Sunday morning on her Instagram Story, adding that she “didn’t even see” Harding and her daughter.

“No one came up to me. No one bothered me. Like, I was just sitting at breakfast in my hotel,” she said, insisting that she did not ask a security guard to talk to the mother and child. “They did not come up to me. They weren’t doing anything. It’s unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions when they have no reason to believe.”

She continued: “I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children. Like, that is crazy. I’m sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something that you would do something, and that if he felt uncomfortable, it makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.”

The Grammy-winning singer, born Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, is currently in São Paulo for Lollapalooza Brazil. Her representatives did not immediately return The Independent’s request for comment.

Frello, 34, alleged in an Instagram post shared Saturday that Roan sent a security guard to accuse his stepdaughter of disrespecting and harassing Roan after the child had reportedly smiled at the singer while passing her table at the hotel restaurant.

The athlete said a member of Roan’s security team approached the pair and spoke “extremely aggressively” to his stepdaughter.

“My daughter was extremely scared and cried a lot,” Frello wrote. “Honestly, I don’t know in what world just passing by a table and looking… can be considered harassment.”

He added, “It’s sad to see this kind of treatment coming from those who should understand the importance of fans.”

Frello, who described the situation as “very upsetting”, said he and the child — who was so excited to see Roan that she had “made a sign” — had been staying at the same hotel as the star “by coincidence”.

Roan has raised eyebrows over fan interactions in the past after her 2023 album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess skyrocketed her to fame.

She recently shared a statement telling fans to respect her boundaries, saying: “I chose this career path because I love music and art and honoring my inner child, I do not accept harassment of any kind because I chose this path, nor do I deserve it.”

“When I’m on stage, when I’m performing, when I’m in drag, when I’m at a work event, when I’m doing press… I am at work. Any other circumstance, I am not in work mode. I am clocked out,” she said.

After she called out “rude” photographers and recently filmed herself confronting a crowd, Culture Club singer Boy George shared advice telling Roan to “own your fame,” saying, “The world is at your feet, stop kicking it!”

Your support helps us to tell the story From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The…

[32
6491,96,56,54,55
post-489730","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-celebrities","tag-celebrities","tag-entertainment","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom","tag-unitedkingdom
["GET
!["Chappell]("https://www.newsbeep.com/uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/ScreenShot-Tool-20260322092300.png")
