Brian \u2018BoMac\u2019 McIntyre has highlighted a major difference between Ryan Garcia\u2019s first fight with Devin Haney and their possible rematch, questioning whether it would affect his performance.<\/p>\n
The pair squared off back in April 2024, with Garcia weighing 3lbs above the super-lightweight limit before flooring his man three times to claim a majority decision victory.<\/p>\n
Soon enough, though, the result was overturned to a no-contest after it emerged that \u2018King Ry\u2019 had tested positive for ostarine, a performance-enhancing drug, for which he was handed a year-long ban.<\/p>\n
Returning from his suspension, the American then suffered a unanimous decision defeat to Rolando Romero, who was later upgraded from \u2018regular\u2019 to full WBA world welterweight champion.<\/p>\n
But despite being dealt a second professional loss, Garcia was nonetheless presented with a world title opportunity against Mario Barrios<\/a>, who he outpointed and dethroned to claim the WBC welterweight strap last month.<\/p>\n Haney, too, has become a world champion since their first encounter, as a dominant performance saw him outpoint Brian Norman Jr for the WBO title in November.<\/p>\n As for a potential rematch between the pair, coach \u2018BoMac\u2019 has told Fight Hub TV that Garcia, without PEDs in his system, may not have the same success against Haney.<\/p>\n \u201cI think [it\u2019ll be] a little different because that drug testing is gonna be enforced. So will [Garcia] have that stab? Will he have that quickness and power?<\/p>\n \u201cThat must be seen.
