Courtney Love<\/a> has shared an update on her growing \u201cappreciation\u201d for Geese<\/a>, and jokingly told \u201cgatekeeper\u201d fans of theirs to \u201cget off my back\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Hole<\/a> icon took to Instagram last month to reveal that she was becoming a fan of the NYC indie-rockers<\/a>, and decided to check them out after seeing all the hype surrounding them and their latest album \u2018Getting Killed<\/a>\u2019 \u2013 saying that it made her \u201cGeese-curious\u201d.<\/p>\n

After first praising the deep, soulful vocal style of frontman Cameron Winter<\/a> as something \u201cyou can\u2019t fake\u201d, she has gone on to share another update \u2013 revealing that she has dived further into their discography and become an even bigger fan.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m back with a Geese update,\u201d she said at the beginning of a new Instagram video, sharing that her \u201cGeese-curious [stance] has turned into Geese-blossoming-appreciation\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m fully liking it,\u201d she added, describing their sound as \u201cDaniel Johnston<\/a>-meets-Rolling Stones<\/a>\u201d, and quipping that Cameron Winter \u201csounds like a 600-year-old man\u2026 in the best way\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a fucking, seriously good lyricist. Like, a seriously good lyricist. Seriously,\u201d she said, saying that she was going to see them live while they are currently on tour in the UK<\/a>, and re-emphasising that she hears a \u201cnaive\u201d influence from The Rolling Stones which you can only spot \u201cif you\u2019re open-minded\u201d.<\/p>\n

Love then went on to suggest she had faced some backlash over her comments on the former NME Cover stars<\/a>, and had some \u201cgatekeeping elder millennial troll fans\u201d reaching out to her since she first shared her interest in the New York band last month.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to talk a little bit about their fans. Their gatekeeping elder millennial troll fans. I love my trolls\u2026 but the Geese trolls are like another kettle of fish,\u201d she said. \u201cI feel like it\u2019s 1990 and I\u2019m trying to impress Sonic Youth<\/a> again. I\u2019m a cool old lady who likes a band, get off my back,\u201d she went ona, sharing that fans have told her to \u201cLeave them alone\u201d.<\/p>\n

She also joked that it feels similar to the \u201c13-year-old Swifties coming for me\u201d \u2013 referring to the backlash she got from Taylor Swift<\/a> fans in 2024 when she said that she didn\u2019t find the global pop star \u201cinteresting as an artist\u201d.<\/a><\/p>\n

Love is one of the many huge names sharing praise for Geese lately, with others including Nick Cave<\/a>, King Princess<\/a>, Primal Scream<\/a>, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2025 marked a huge year for the band thanks to the release of their latest album, \u2018Getting Killed<\/a>\u2019, which was given a five-star review from NME<\/a>, and later landed at the Number One spot on our 50 Best Albums of the year list<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Their track \u2018Taxes\u2019<\/a> from the record also came in at Number Two in NME\u2018s 50 best songs of 2025 list<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Geese kicked off the UK leg of their 2026 tour dates at Glasgow\u2019s SWG3 on Saturday (March 21), and dates continue tomorrow (Tuesday March 24) in Manchester. You can see a full list of dates below, and buy any remaining tickets here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As for Love, the singer has frequently teased a possible comeback for Hole. The band\u2019s classic line-up, with Melissa Auf Der Maur<\/a>, Eric Erlandson and Patty Schemel, has been on hiatus since 2002, but did return between 2009 and 2012 with some different members.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the frontwoman sparked fresh speculation by sharing a mysterious video online<\/a> featuring Auf der Maur, and wrote in the caption: \u201cSo do we tell the kids about the tour?\u201d<\/p>\n

Later that week, Love clarified the meaning behind the teaser<\/a>, saying that there would be \u201cno Hole reunion\u201d, but instead she and Auf der Maur would be \u201cplaying some shows, new songs\u201d together. More details are expected to be announced shortly.<\/p>\n

The past couple of years have also seen Love build hype for her second-ever solo album, which would mark the long-awaited follow-up to 2004\u2019s \u2018America\u2019s Sweetheart\u2019.
