He became known to the wider audience in Italy after participating to the talent show Amici.

Marcello has already worked with Sal Da Vinci, most recently his performance at Sanremo and the music video for “Per sempre sì”. He is the one who created the hand gestures that Sal uses while performing, and he will also be in charge of the upcoming performance at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. Speaking to Gente, Marcello commented:

There’s anxiety and a great sense of responsibility. We’re working hard on the choreography. I’ll bring my vision and my Italian identity.

Marcello has also hinted at the staging he is working on, defining it minimal, with movements that will accompany Sal’s entrance and the five performers joining him on stage. As the music builds, the choreography will become more dynamic – all of this taking place under warm lightning, in shades of gold and white, and with a measured use of LED projections to create the effect of an intimate space.

Sal Da Vinci was selected to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 after winning Festival di Sanremo. In Vienna, he will be singing “Per sempre sì”.

As a Member of the Big Four, Italy is qualified directly for the Grand Final and will compete directly on May 16th in Vienna, Austria.

Source: Libero

Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest+

Italy debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 and has participated a total of 42 times to date.
