The sculptures were loaded onto a piece of land at Princes Dock, facing the <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/river-mersey\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">River Mersey<\/a>, on Thursday, March 18.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">On <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/twitter\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">X<\/a>, user @Liverpool1207 shared pictures of the statues, which included a man in a suit with the face of a <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/dogs\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">dog <\/a>and a woman in business wear with the face of a <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/animals\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">rabbit<\/a>. There is also a convoy of other animals holding onto each other, including an elephant, giraffe and lion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/arts-culture-news\/\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">post <\/a>said: \u201cNot sure where it will be exhibited but some strange inhabitants are being unloaded at Princes Dock.\u201d They added it was part of an exhibition called \u201cGo Wildlife Go\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/exhibitions\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">statues <\/a>are the brainchild of Gillie and Marc Schattner, a British and Australian couple. They are blocked off by a locked barrier on one side and a fence on the cover.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The man and woman are visible but the convoy of other animals, which is on a scooter, is partially covered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Go Wildlife Go has previously been showcased on Paternoster Square in London and intends to shine a spotlight on animal species in danger of extinction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A message about the exhibition on a board at Princes Dock says: \u201cOne of the greatest joys and sources of wonder comes from the most natural place &#8211; the wild animals, forests, lakes and all the beautiful treats of planet Earth are more exciting and healthy than anything we have created.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A sign explaining the exhibition\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/0_es-on-Princes-Dock-Liverpool-waterfront-March-23-2026-pic-1jpeg.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p aria-label=\"A sign explaining the exhibition\" class=\"ImageCaption_caption-title__ccyQU\" data-testid=\"caption-title\">A sign explaining the exhibition(Image: Jamie Greer\/Liverpool ECHO)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cYet, the world is currently experiencing its sixth mass extinction event. We are losing species at 100-1,000 times the natural rate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cMore and more creatures are in trouble, with an estimated one million species heading towards extinction within the next decades.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cThe reasons can be linked back to us &#8211; humans. Thousands of animals are facing imminent extinction unless we act now.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;With the same joy and love we get from being in these magical wild places, we must now heal them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Through the sculpture, the artwork encourages the public to learn more about this issue.
