A Bristol city centre car park is set to close this week after the parking company, National Car Parks (NCP), went into administration.<\/p>\n
The company employs 682 people and manages 340 sites across the UK, but is closing 22 car parks, including its Nelson Street site.<\/p>\n
NCP Limited went into administration on Monday, March 16, with the 95-year-old firm stating that a post-COVID decline in parking demand had never fully bounced back, LeicestershireLive reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n It has now informed landlords and employees that 22 car parks are “no longer commercially viable to operate” and will close on Friday, March 27.<\/p>\n The following NCP car parks will close at 11.59pm on Friday, March 27:<\/p>\n Ashford County SquareAshton-under-Lyne Cotton StreetBanbury Marlborough RoadBexley Royal Oak RoadBirmingham Gough StreetBournemouth Hinton RoadBristol Nelson StreetBromley TravelodgeCardiff Dumfries PlaceEastbourne Trinity PlaceExeter Market StreetGrantham Station 1-3Hinckley Britannia Shopping CentreIpswich Portman RoadLeicester Abbey StreetLeicester East StreetLeicester Lee CircleLeicester Rutland CentreLondon Harley StreetLondon Kings Cross St PancrasLondon KnightsbridgeLuton Regent Street<\/p>\n Across the closing sites, 33 staff members will be made redundant on March 31, with administrators confirming that those impacted will receive support through the statutory redundancy payments process.<\/p>\n The remaining 318 NCP car parks across the country remain unaffected and will continue operating as normal, with no additional closures identified at this stage.<\/p>\n
