{"id":492259,"date":"2026-03-24T08:31:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-24T08:31:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/492259\/"},"modified":"2026-03-24T08:31:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-24T08:31:07","slug":"ghanaian-youth-no-longer-prioritise-condom-usage-survey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/492259\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghanaian youth no longer prioritise condom usage \u2013 Survey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghanaweb.com\/GhanaHomePage\/NewsArchive\/Ghanaian-youth-no-longer-prioritise-condom-usage-Survey-2027098?gallery=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/34682433.295.jpg\" alt=\"File photo showing condoms\" title=\"File photo showing condoms\" width=\"295\" height=\"197\" \/> <\/a>File photo showing condoms<\/p>\n<p id=\"article-123\">Founder of Ikederb Medical Outreach, Isaac Amoah, has disclosed that a recent survey suggests that the majority of Ghanaian youth no longer prefer the use of condoms.\u200e<\/p>\n<p>In reference to the survey, he indicated respondents said the condoms available in Ghana are small in size and feel very tight.\u200e<\/p>\n<p>\u200e\u201cIn a recent survey we conducted, respondents said condoms available in Ghana often feel too small, and many therefore avoid using them because they feel uncomfortably tight,\u201d he revealed on Saturday, March 22, 2026.\u200e<\/p>\n<p>\u200eHe made this revelation during a free HIV screening and education programme organised by Ikederb Medical Outreach in collaboration with Osu Gospel Centre Assemblies of God, an HIV\/AIDS awareness campaign, themed: &#8220;Early Detection Saves Lives&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eHe highlighted that at least 15,000 people are infected with the virus each year, emphasising how widespread HIV remains.\u200e<\/p>\n<p>\u200e\u201cHIV is still with us. Every year, 15,000 people become infected. This shows the virus is still spreading,\u201d he said.\u200e<\/p>\n<p>Speaking further with Angel FM reporters, he appealed to the youth to consistently use condoms during sexual intercourse.<\/p>\n<p>\u200e\u200e\u201cI urge you, condoms are elastic and can be used.
