After it was revealed that Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle would be taking over Butler’s Farm<\/a>, many fans and former stars of Emmerdale<\/a> have expressed joy at the ITV soap<\/a> returning to its roots.<\/p>\n

One actor who isn’t best pleased, however, is Natalie J Robb. After all, her character, Moira Dingle, was put in an impossible situation given her current situation, and begrudgingly sold her share of the farm to Kim Tate.<\/p>\n

As the Tates have their new project, the Dingles are very much in the thick of the drama; not only is Moira coming to terms with her life behind bars, but her husband Cain was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. <\/p>\n

The various developments have meant that Robb has spent a larger amount of time away from the farm set, and the actor shared that this was a particularly gut-wrenching aspect of Moira’s storyline.<\/p>\n

“I was gutted when I found out, I’m not going to lie,” she told The Mirror<\/a>. “I’ve been there day-to-day. I have always loved working on that set but on the flip side, you embrace the change as well. <\/p>\n

“The show is going back to the old roots with the Tates, Dingles and Sugdens. There’s a lot of new stories that could come from that. All good things come to an end. It does feel a little bit odd but we are producing some good stuff at the minute.”<\/p>\n

Robb, who has been on the soap<\/a> since 2009, also spoke about Moira’s time behind bars, with the star explaining that the trials and tribulations would lead to a “rebirth” of sorts further down the line. <\/p>\n

“I think prison makes her a bit harder,” said the actor. “The way she presents herself is going to change a bit, because she’s had everything taken away from her. So the things that she didn’t really bother with, she\u2019s going to actually do now. <\/p>\n

“She’s going to have a bit of a rebirth in that sense\u2026 When she’s out, she’s going to be around people all of a sudden and that can feel weird, because you’ve just been on your own for ages and you’ve not had the same chain of chaos as you used to have.”<\/p>\n

Robb isn’t the only Emmerdale star to comment on the big developments at Butler’s Farm, with former players such as Kelvin Fletcher<\/a>, Adam Thomas, Jeff Hordley<\/a> and Lyndon Ogbourne<\/a> all sharing their thoughts.<\/p>\n

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX<\/a>.<\/p>\n
