{"id":494457,"date":"2026-03-25T12:34:11","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T12:34:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/494457\/"},"modified":"2026-03-25T12:34:11","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T12:34:11","slug":"1-2m-boost-for-wrexham-maelor-imaging-equipment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/494457\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00a31.2m boost for Wrexham Maelor imaging equipment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                                <a href=\"https:\/\/wrexham.com\/news\" rel=\"category tag nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">News<\/a> \u2022<br \/>\n                                March 25, 2026 at 6:00 am                            <\/p>\n<p>New scanning and X-ray equipment is set to be installed at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital as part of a \u00a312 million investment in NHS diagnostic services across Wales.<\/p>\n<p>Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board has been awarded \u00a32.5 million from the fund, including \u00a31.2 million specifically for Wrexham Maelor.<\/p>\n<p>New CT, X-ray and bone density scanners will replace equipment that had become unreliable and increasingly difficult to repair, reducing the time lost to breakdowns and maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>Funding will also be invested into Bryn Beryl Hospital, Dolgellau Hospital and Mold Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>More than \u00a36.7m will fund nine new digital X-ray rooms across Betsi Cadwaladr, Cardiff &amp; Vale and Swansea Bay health boards, benefiting Bryn Beryl, Dolgellau, Wrexham Maelor, Mold, Llandough, the Children\u2019s Hospital for Wales, Singleton and Neath Port Talbot hospitals.<\/p>\n<p>Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care Jeremy Miles said: \u201cWe are replacing ageing equipment with the latest technology in a bid to improve the resilience, reliability and efficiency of diagnostic services across Wales.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis equipment \u2013 including CT scanners, X rays and high-resolution imaging of bones, organs and soft tissues \u2013 will help increase the number of scans able to take place and improve patient flow through the healthcare system.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cImproving the ergonomics of X-ray equipment will also make it easier to use for staff, with most being fully automated for positioning, so they can be more efficient and benefit patient care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>                                Spotted something?
