<\/p>\nCatherine Tyldesley is set to exit cosy crime series The Good Ship Murder. It comes as season four of the show has been announced, with Shayne Ward back as lead character Jack Grayling.<\/p>\n
The 5 show has run since 2023, with Tyldesley having been on board as First Officer Kate Woods since its inception.<\/p>\n
However, it has been revealed that she will make her final bow as the character in the season premiere as part of a “special appearance”.<\/p>\n

Related: Best streaming services<\/a><\/p>\n The Good Ship Murder focuses on detective and cruise ship cabaret singer Grayling as he solves murders on board and in locations it docks at, with season four promising “a brand new voyage packed with intrigue and danger”, as well as guest stars.<\/p>\n Woods’s exit sets “the stage for an exciting new era for Jack, as he navigates fresh challenges, new alliances and unexpected twists”.<\/p>\n “We are thrilled to be bringing The Good Ship Murder back for a fourth series,” said 5 commissioning editor Greg Barnett. “Audiences have truly embraced the show\u2019s unique combination of mystery, music and escapism, and we are excited to continue Jack\u2019s journey with even more surprises and new faces in store.”<\/p>\n Executive producer Andy Morgan added: “As we set sail on Series 4, we\u2019re welcoming a host of wonderful new faces that audiences are going to love.<\/p>\n Channel 5<\/p>\n “Together they\u2019ll join our hero Jack for more adventures and plenty of show-stopping tunes, across the high seas. It\u2019s a bittersweet moment as we bid a fond farewell to a beloved character and friend, but we\u2019re very excited about the next voyage for The Good Ship Murder.”<\/p>\n Tyldesley’s departure will likely not come as a surprise given her return to Coronation Street<\/a> last year, with her character Eva Price taking over the Rovers.
