The EU average itself stood at around \u20ac41,600 in purchasing power terms, providing the common reference point against which all EU countries are measured.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecl-u-type-paragraph\">This information comes from the <a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/web\/purchasing-power-parities\/database\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">preliminary estimates of purchasing power parities (PPPs) and GDP for 2025<\/a> published by Eurostat. Bar chart - Click below to see full dataset.\" data-fileentryid=\"23421575\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Purchasing_Power_Parties_Visual_01_1920x1080_FIX-100.jpg\" width=\"700\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"ecl-u-type-paragraph ecl-u-type-align-center\">Source dataset: <a class=\"ecl-link\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/databrowser\/view\/prc_ppp_ind_1__custom_20700129\/default\/table\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">prc_ppp_ind_1<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"ecl-u-type-paragraph\">In 2025, substantial differences in GDP per capita expressed in purchasing power standards were observed among EU countries.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecl-u-type-paragraph\">Just 10 of the EU\u2019s 27 countries came in above the EU average in 2025, a group accounting for around 34% of the EU total population. Alongside Luxembourg and Ireland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Malta and Finland all exceeded the average.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ecl-u-type-paragraph\">Much of the rest of the EU clustered within a relatively modest distance of the mean.
