What used to be Hyde Nursing Home will now be transformed into a unit for men suffering with mental health issues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Following approval from <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/tameside\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">Tameside<\/a> council\u2019s planning panel, Cygnet Health Care will convert the vacant three-storey building into a facility fit for 47 males suffering with mental health problems. Please don\u2019t put those children at risk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Objector Gareth O\u2019Neill, speaking on behalf of locals in the area, added that this facility posed a \u2018clear risk of danger to residents\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">An agent on behalf of Cygnet, explained that the PICU would only be a small part of the mental health hospital \u2013 12 out of 47 beds. He added that this unit, for the most vulnerable residents in crisis, would be separate to the rest of the facility.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cThis is where people need crisis intervention,\u201d the agent told the panel. \u201cThey will be in the facility for much longer than others.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cThe idea is that they will transfer from the PICU to the acute wards.
