{"id":495384,"date":"2026-03-25T23:54:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T23:54:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/495384\/"},"modified":"2026-03-25T23:54:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T23:54:08","slug":"crowlands-heath-golf-course-will-be-sold-to-homes4life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/495384\/","title":{"rendered":"Crowlands Heath Golf Course will be sold to Homes4Life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  In a Barking and Dagenham Council cabinet meeting last night (March 24), councillors were asked to reconfirm the decision to sell Crowlands Heath Golf Course which sits between Crow Lane and Wood Lane in Dagenham.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Interest was first shown in the site by developer Homes4Life in October last year when this paper saw a letter addressed to residents detailing that the firm had agreed to purchase the golf course.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  On October 14, Barking and Dagenham Council agreed proposals relating to the sale of the site subject to planning permission being secured and last night (March 24), sought to consolidate this decision.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>Cllr Dominic Twomey chaired Tuesday night&#8217;s meeting (Image: Barking and Dagenham Council)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Council leader Dominic Twomey said: &#8220;Sadly no responses were received to the public notice regarding the council&#8217;s intention to dispose of land at Crowlands Heath Golf Course.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;I say sadly because we always want engagement &#8211; we press for engagement from our residents.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Cllr Twomey said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.romfordrecorder.co.uk\/news\/25747283.crowlands-heath-golf-course-redevelopment---everything-know\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Homes4Life has already secured an agreement with the golf club<\/a> itself to develop on the site.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  There were no questions or appeals from councillors regarding the proposed decision to reconfirm the sale agreement.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  An official sale completion date was not confirmed.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>CGI of the proposed housing estate (Image: Kanda)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  In a Havering Council strategic planning committee meeting in late January, representatives from Homes4Life including director Marc Pennick presented their proposals to the committee.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  It was met with backlash from Cllr Viddy Persaud who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.romfordrecorder.co.uk\/news\/25801663.crowlands-heath-golf-course-redevelopment-objected\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">said she &#8220;objects&#8221; to the proposal and claimed she had seen an &#8220;overwhelming response&#8221;<\/a> from opposing residents too.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Fellow Rush Green and Crowlands ward councillor, Cllr Timothy Ryan added that he was &#8220;very deeply concerned&#8221;
