{"id":496379,"date":"2026-03-26T12:30:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-26T12:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/496379\/"},"modified":"2026-03-26T12:30:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T12:30:08","slug":"everyone-in-evin-prison-has-had-family-killed-or-shot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/496379\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Everyone in Evin Prison has had family killed or shot&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">During a phone call with her son Joe Bennett, from Folkestone in Kent, Foreman said the prisoners she was with were &#8220;so resilient, so tenacious&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Ordinary Iranians have &#8220;an amazing culture of graceful kindness and absolute generosity&#8221;, she said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Foreman says the prison&#8217;s daily menu of &#8220;rice and gristle&#8221; is &#8220;repeated every single week&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">She said she had been able to buy basic goods, such as bread, flour and sugar, from a shop inside the facility, although it has been shut in recent days. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Foreman says she has started running round the prison&#8217;s concrete courtyard, which makes a lap of 55 metres (180 ft). <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;It&#8217;s repetitive, but sometimes repetitive is good.
