Wales head coach Steve Tandy could have another high-quality second-row option to select next season, with Canterbury Crusaders lock Tahlor Cahill lining up a move to a Welsh club.<\/p>\n

WalesOnline understands the Scarlets<\/a> are leading the chase for the signature of the Welsh-qualified lock. The 22-year-old, who is eligible through a grandparent, is interested in representing Wales but is waiting until there is more clarity over the future structure in Welsh rugby before committing.<\/p>\n

Tandy will have been pleased with how Dragons lock Ben Carter stepped up alongside Dafydd Jenkins during the Six Nations<\/a> but Cahill would add some much-needed depth.<\/p>\n

The Scarlets look set to lose Australian second-row Max Douglas to a Japanese club and are keen on a high-quality replacement, with Cahill in their sights.<\/p>\n

Wales U20s loan deal considered<\/p>\n

Former Wales U20s tighthead Sam Scott could be playing his club rugby in Wales next season with a potential one-season loan deal being considered.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old is seen as Wales’ long-term answer at tighthead but is struggling to get any game time in Bristol Bears’ first team and has been playing the majority of his rugby for Dings Crusaders in National One.<\/p>\n

Both Cardiff<\/a> and the Dragons are interested in Scott as a potential loan option but he is in the middle of a long-term contract at Bristol.<\/p>\n

Scarlets interested in Ospreys star<\/p>\n

The Ospreys<\/a> are working hard to ensure Australian utility back Jack Walsh signs a new contract at the club, with arch-rivals Scarlets also interested in the 26-year-old.<\/p>\n

Walsh, who was born in Florida but raised in the US, will qualify for Wales before the start of the 2027 Rugby World Cup<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He is also attracting interest from Exeter Chiefs and a host of clubs in Japan.<\/p>\n

It would be a surprise if he left the Ospreys but the Scarlets have put an outside-half on their shopping list, with Joe Hawkins primarily a centre which leaves 18-year-old Carwyn Leggatt-Jones to compete with Sam Costelow for the number 10 shirt.<\/p>\n

Lane returning home?<\/p>\n

Cardiff look set to sign Wales outside-half Jarrod Evans when his Harlequins contract expires at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old is keen on a return to the Arms Park and wants to challenge for a place in Wales’ Rugby World Cup squad.<\/p>\n

Former Cardiff wing Owen Lane is considering a move back to Wales when his contract with Valence Romans runs out at the end of this season.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old was a top-performer for Cardiff over a number of seasons scoring 43 tries in 92 first team appearances for the Blue & Blacks.<\/p>\n

He has also won five caps for Wales. Lane’s CV is doing the rounds, with a couple of the Welsh clubs showing an interest.<\/p>\n
