{"id":497690,"date":"2026-03-27T05:07:19","date_gmt":"2026-03-27T05:07:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/497690\/"},"modified":"2026-03-27T05:07:19","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T05:07:19","slug":"salisbury-specialist-palliative-care-service-secured","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/497690\/","title":{"rendered":"Salisbury Specialist Palliative Care service secured"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salisburyjournal.co.uk\/topics\/salisbury-nhs-foundation-trust\/?ref=au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust<\/a> has announced that, with the support of Salisbury Hospice Charity, the Salisbury Specialist Palliative Care service has been secured for the next five years.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The extended agreement means that a full range of care will continue, including inpatient and community services, outpatient clinics, day services, and support for families and those who are bereaved.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Nick Johnson, managing director at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salisburyjournal.co.uk\/topics\/salisbury-nhs-foundation-trust\/?ref=au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust<\/a>, said: &#8220;We\u2019re pleased to secure the future of the Salisbury Specialist Palliative Care service for the next five years, ensuring patients and families continue to receive compassionate, high-quality care.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;This agreement reflects strong partnership working and our ongoing commitment to delivering expert support, particularly for those being cared for at home.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The community palliative care service, commissioned by HCRG Care Group for Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, and Wiltshire, will remain unchanged under the new plan.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Patients will continue to receive care in their homes from a consultant-led team of clinical nurse specialists, supported by other healthcare professionals.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  However, as part of the revised model, the Hospice at Home service, which provided care through healthcare assistants, will be discontinued.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The trust said it remains committed to providing coordinated and compassionate care across the region in partnership with the wider health and care system.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Salisbury Hospice Charity will continue to play a vital role in supporting and sustaining the future of specialist palliative care services in the area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust has announced that, with the support of Salisbury Hospice Charity, the Salisbury Specialist Palliative&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":497691,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[43],"tags":[102,2960,56,54,55],"class_list":["post-497690","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-healthcare","tag-health","tag-healthcare","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom","tag-unitedkingdom"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/497690","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=497690"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/497690\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/497691"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=497690"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=497690"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=497690"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
