{"id":498089,"date":"2026-03-27T10:25:12","date_gmt":"2026-03-27T10:25:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/498089\/"},"modified":"2026-03-27T10:25:12","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T10:25:12","slug":"reese-lynch-scottish-boxer-targets-world-title-in-pro-ranks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/498089\/","title":{"rendered":"Reese Lynch: Scottish boxer targets world title in pro ranks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Commonwealth gold medallist Reese Lynch is now targetting world titles in the professional ranks after amateur success.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Lynch, 24, will defend his unbeaten start to his nascent pro career against England&#8217;s Matthew King, 30, at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow next month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A gold medal winner in Birmingham four years ago at light welterweight, Lynch missed out on the Paris Olympics in 2024 with a rib injury.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Fauldhouse fighter turned pro and has won his first three bouts, and says he is embracing the pressure of earning a living from boxing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;There is always going to be pressure, coming from that good background &#8211; people are expecting you to do well but pressure is what you make of it,&#8221; Lynch told BBC Scotland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;If you build yourself off it and you just focus on yourself, then it shouldn&#8217;t worry you too much as long as you are getting the outcomes and performing the way you can.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Commonwealth gold medallist Reese Lynch is now targetting world titles in the professional ranks after amateur success.
