{"id":498127,"date":"2026-03-27T10:55:11","date_gmt":"2026-03-27T10:55:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/498127\/"},"modified":"2026-03-27T10:55:11","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T10:55:11","slug":"ni-economy-slowed-ahead-of-iran-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/498127\/","title":{"rendered":"NI economy slowed ahead of Iran crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Richard Ramsey, economist at Queen&#8217;s University business school, said the data showed that the performance of the NI economy in 2025 was not as robust as previously thought.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;The biggest takeaway concerns the revisions to previous data,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Over the last six months, economists and business leaders were surprised at the scale of Northern Ireland&#8217;s apparent economic outperformance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;The latest NICEI figures confirm that the scale of NI&#8217;s economic growth outperformance isn&#8217;t as large as previously stated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;It is now revealed that private sector output contracted in the third quarter of 2025 by 0.7% as opposed to expanding by +1.2%.
