During the latest instalment, Humphrey, played by Kris Marshall, and his team investigated a crime novelist’s death, where the circumstances of his demise eerily mirrored the details of his final novel.<\/p>\n

Humphrey, who was a huge fan of the crime novelist, had to uncover whether it was a coincidence or murder by design.<\/p>\n

Also during the episode, The Lily Bond caught adrift leaving Humphrey and new wife Martha Lloyd<\/a>, played by Sally Bretton, back home with Martha’s mother Anne Lloyd, played by Barbara Flynn, before going to view a perfect doer-upper property overlooking the beach.<\/p>\n

However, the investigation and The Lily Bond sailing away was the least of Humphrey’s worries as he confided in wife Martha some devastating news.<\/p>\n

Opening up on his ‘bad day’, Humphrey said he was called in to a meeting, where he was faced with a very difficult decision.<\/p>\n

He explained: “They’re saying I’ve got to lose someone at the station. Apparently there should only be three of us at the station so I need to lose one of either Esther, Kelby or Margo…”<\/p>\n

To which Martha said: “”That’s awful! What will you do?” with Humphrey admitting: “I’ve no idea!”<\/p>\n

In a first look teaser of next week’s episode it sees Humphrey chased up on his decision as he says: “Mr Smith, he’s still hounding me on a decision on who I’m going to let go…”<\/p>\n

It comes as a synopsis for series four teases: “Beyond the station, Humphrey and Martha launch into married life as they search for a new place to call home, all whilst Humphrey faces mounting pressure when tasked with an impossible decision that will change his team forever.”<\/p>\n

Taking to Twitter<\/a>, now X, viewers were quick to share their thoughts on the storyline and predict who Humphrey will fire.<\/p>\n

One person said: “#beyondparadise He can\u2019t fire anybody. They are a team”, a different viewer wrote: “#BeyondParadise Uh oh” while another show watcher added: “Guessing Humphrey will pick himself as the one to be made redundant and his boss will let them all stay. #BeyondParadise.”<\/p>\n
