{"id":499204,"date":"2026-03-28T00:40:11","date_gmt":"2026-03-28T00:40:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/499204\/"},"modified":"2026-03-28T00:40:11","modified_gmt":"2026-03-28T00:40:11","slug":"senate-advances-bill-to-expand-mental-health-workforce-in-delaware-the-latest-from-wdel-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/499204\/","title":{"rendered":"Senate advances bill to expand mental health workforce in Delaware | The Latest from WDEL News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Legislation aimed at addressing Delaware\u2019s mental health provider shortage has cleared the state Senate and is now headed to the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n<p>Senate Substitute 1 to Senate Bill 208, sponsored by Senate Republican Whip Brian Pettyjohn of Georgetown, would modernize the state\u2019s psychology licensing laws by creating a regulated pathway for master\u2019s-level psychology clinicians.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s vote is an important step toward strengthening Delaware\u2019s mental health care system,\u201d Pettyjohn said. \u201cBy creating a clear pathway for qualified master\u2019s-level clinicians, we can expand the workforce and help more Delawareans get the care they need in a timely manner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The bill does not replace or diminish existing professional licenses.
