With Tadej Poga\u010dar already making it clear that 2026 is set to be yet another season of Tadej Poga\u010dar brilliance, it was up to his biggest GC rival to deliver \u2013\u00a0or face the doom and gloom of headlines questioning his status.<\/p>\n He did deliver, and instead it will be Remco Evenepoel staring down the doom and gloom after a mountainous stage 5.<\/p>\n A handful of brave souls attacked out of the GC group on the finishing climb of La Molina, shortened due to high winds but still plenty challenging enough to be a GC battleground. Vingegaard let Visma-Lease a Bike teammate Sepp Kuss do some chasing before leaving the pursuers behind, catching the leaders, and then blowing them away with a little under 6 km to go.
