David Beckham<\/a> has revealed that his children asked after \u2018extra privileges\u2019 when they learned that he was set to be knighted.<\/p>\n

The former England footballer and head of the Beckham empire, 50, received his knighthood in November 2025<\/a>, after decades of campaigning.<\/p>\n

The star shares children Brooklyn, 27, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 14, with wife Victoria<\/a>, 51 \u2013 most of whom looked on proudly as he was bestowed the honour by King Charles at Windsor Castle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This did not include eldest son Brooklyn Beckham<\/a>, from whom David and Victoria are currently estranged<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now officially a knight of the realm, David (that\u2019s Sir David, to you) has shared his thoughts on what\u2019s changed since receiving the title.<\/p>\n

This includes sharing his kids\u2019 initial reaction, who were surprised to learn that the family would get no \u2018extra privileges.\u2019<\/p>\n

Speaking on TalkSPORT Drive<\/a>, David shared how his children had hoped they\u2019d also benefit from his knighthood.<\/p>\n

\u2018My kids turn around to me and said, \u201cDad, do we get any privileges like, any more?\u201d\u2018 he told hosts Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent.<\/p>\n

He added: \u2018I was like, \u201cwell, apart from the ones that you\u2019ve already got, absolutely not\u201d.\u2019<\/p>\n

David went on to describe getting the title as \u2018probably the best day of his life,\u2019 save for the birth of his children and his 1999 wedding to Victoria.<\/p>\n

He also provided an update on son Cruz\u2019s career, speaking of his son\u2019s band \u2013 Cruz Beckham<\/a> and the Breakers, who have been touring their music across the UK and Europe recently<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m very proud of him because he\u2019s worked really hard. So good stuff,\u2019 he gushed.<\/p>\n

As for his other children, Romeo <\/a>followed in his father\u2019s footsteps as a professional footballer for a while \u2013 retiring in 2024 to concentrate on his modeling career.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, teenage daughter Harper <\/a>is already establishing herself as a name in the industry, with plans to launch her own beauty brand<\/a>, HIKU by Harper.<\/p>\n

And then there\u2019s eldest son Brooklyn, whose rocky relationship with his parents has hit headlines over the last year due to reports of a rift within the family.<\/p>\n

Speculation that all wasn\u2019t right within the House of Beckham first emerged when Brooklyn appeared to \u2018snub\u2019 his dad\u2019s 50th birthday party<\/a> in May last year.<\/p>\n

In August, the Beckhams were absent from Brooklyn\u2019s vow renewal to wife Nicola Peltz<\/a>, all but confirming rumours of a family fallout.<\/p>\n

He was also a no-show when David received his knighthood in November, and appeared to offer no acknowledgement of the event on social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After months of media speculation, Brooklyn finally broke his silence, publishing a lengthy diatribe to his Instagram account in which he accused his parents of \u2018controlling\u2019 and \u2018manipulative\u2019 behaviour.<\/p>\n

This included his mum allegedly embarrassing him during his 2022 marriage to Nicola, describing how she\u2019d \u2018danced very inappropriately\u2019 on him<\/a> in front of everyone.<\/p>\n

This month, he celebrated his 27th birthday \u2013 once again appearing to snub his parents, who offered an olive branch via social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sharing two photos on Instagram, David wrote: \u201827 Today. Happy birthday Bust <3. We love you x.\u2019 <\/p>\n

Victoria also shared two photos, in which she also told her son that she \u2018loves you so much\u2019.<\/p>\n

Neither party tagged their son\u2019s account \u2013 presumably because he\u2019s blocked them both on social media.<\/p>\n

Instead, Brooklyn appeared in a video posted by wife Nicola<\/a>, which showed him approaching a table laden with flowers, presents and a box of doughnuts which spelled out a birthday message.<\/p>\n

In the caption, Nicola wrote: \u2018Happy Birthday baby. I hope all your dreams and wishes come true! You light up every room you walk into and anyone who knows you loves you. You\u2019re the most special human and I love being your wife. I love you I love you I love you.\u2019<\/p>\n

Brooklyn commented on the post:\u2018My baby girl xxx.\u2019<\/p>\n
