Antonio Banderas is sharing what it has been like to leave Hollywood.<\/p>\n
The 65-year-old actor left Hollywood behind to return to his home town M\u00e1laga, Spain in 2017 after a near-fatal heart attack.<\/p>\n
\u201cMine was a really serious warning. It changed the way I look at life,\u201d he shared during a new interview with The Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/p>\n Not only did he return home, but he quit smoking, sold his private jet, and bought his not-for-profit theatre Teatro del Soho, which he describes as his great passion.<\/p>\n Antonio said, \u201cFaced with death, it made me look back and realize that I am, in fact, a theatre actor.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI have never been so happy,\u201d The Mask of Zorro star added.<\/p>\n While he doesn\u2019t live in the States anymore, Antonio is still a working actor, having starred in recent hits like Babygirl, Paddington in Peru, and even Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.<\/p>\n He previously talked about opening his theater company in 2019, just a few years after his heart attack. It also includes a school for 600 students.<\/p>\n \u201cI came [to] the conclusion that I had to do the things that I want to do, that I don\u2019t want to die thinking, \u2018I should have done that or I should have said that.\u2019 Money in the bank became kind of a very Machiavellian intellectual thing,\u201d he revealed at the time<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Antonio Banderas is sharing what it has been like to leave Hollywood.
