Food Standard Agency extends ‘do not eat’ warning to more supermarket products\"A<\/p>\n

A ‘do not eat’ warning over a range of breakfast foods sold at a range of major supermarkets has been extended to include more products. As previously reported<\/a>, the Food Stardard Agency announced a food recall on Monday that related to porridge pots and sachets sold by MOMA Foods whose products are stocked at the likes of Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose.<\/p>\n

The reason behind the recall was possible contamination by mouse droppings and now the FSA’s ‘do no eat’ alert has been broadened to include more porridge lines. The agency says this Saturday: “MOMA Foods is recalling various porridge pots and sachet products because of possible mouse contamination at the manufacturing site.<\/p>\n

“This update extends the recall to all products with a best before date between April 24, 2026 and March 12, 2027.” Originally nine varieties<\/a> of MOMA porridge pots and sachets, of various pack sizes and lot numbers<\/a> were involved, but now there are 15 products listed while one of the originals has been withdrawn from the alert.<\/p>\n

It says that an eight-pack 55g MOMA Almond Butter & Salted Caramel Porridge ‘was included in error on the original notice’ and is now been excluded from the recall. The products to beware of include a wide selection of flavoured porridge pots; protein porridge oats and instant sachets in various pack sizes which indicates the problem is not confined to a single batch or format, reports The Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With the FSA confirming that the risk concerns potential contamination at the manufacturing facility, rather than a problem detected in one specific product line, that appears to be why the recall was widened on March 28. It now encompasses all products manufactured within the stated date range, as listed below.<\/p>\n

MOMA Foods has been withdrawing the affected porridge from sale and is displaying point-of-sale notices both in stores and online to alert customers to the issue. The notices also offer guidance on what shoppers who have bought any of the listed items should do.<\/p>\n

They are urged not to consume any of thost listed and instead should return them to the store where they were bought in order to receive a full refund. The company can be emailed at getintouch@momafoods.co.uk if anyone wants more information.<\/p>\n
