A nut butter product sold by Ocado<\/a> has been urgently recalled<\/a> over concerns that it may contain pieces of metal. Daylesford Organic took action over Cacao Double Nut Butter \u201cbecause of a physical contamination risk in the product\u201d.<\/p>\n

A notice added: \u201cThis product may contain metal ball bearings which present a choking hazard and makes it unsafe to eat.\u201d Metal ball bearings can present a choking risk, especially for children, if accidentally swallowed or inhaled.<\/p>\n

Some people may also develop skin irritation or allergic<\/a> reactions to metals such as nickel which are sometimes used in ball bearings.<\/p>\n

Ball bearings used in machinery can also create fine dust or powder which can cause respiratory issues when inhaled.<\/p>\n

The recall applies to 230g jars of the nut butter with the batch code 230625 and a best before date of February 2027.<\/p>\n

The Food Standards Agency advised customers: \u201cIf you have bought the above product do not eat it.<\/p>\n

\u201cInstead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.\u201d<\/p>\n

It follows a similar recall issued by Lidl GB<\/a> in June for Harvest Basket Hash Browns.<\/p>\n
