For a \u00a350 supplement players can swap out Craighead Links for Crail&#8217;s Balcomie Links, originally designed by Old Tom Morris in 1895.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img  \/><\/p>\n<p>\n  A relatively rare thing in Fife, the heathland layout at Ladybank began as a six-hole course created in 1879 by Old Tom Morris. Since 1978 it has hosted seven final qualifying rounds for The Open at St Andrews.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Lundin dates back to 1868 and has a long history as a shared Old Tom Morris layout with Leven before becoming its own James Braid\u2011enhanced course and a regular Open final qualifying venue. It is predominantly a links course with some mixed-character inland holes.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Opened in 1998, Craighead Links at Crail was designed by American architect Gil Hanse, his first course design outside the US. We are delighted with the\u00a0early response\u00a0for\u00a0bookings for the season ahead.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>  The Herald Scottish Golf Survey is back<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>There will be a special &#8216;thank you&#8217; gift for all those taking part (Image: Damian Shields)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The Herald Scottish <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldscotland.com\/sport\/golf\/?ref=au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Golf<\/a> Survey is back in 2026 with some important changes that we hope the country&#8217;s clubs and golf organisations will find particularly useful.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Our goal is to gauge the financial health of the industry across Scotland, so to help clubs and facilities better understand their relative performance it is our aim to present this year&#8217;s results on both a regional and national basis. For all those taking part, there will be a thank you gift to assist in the promotion of their organisation.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Findings from the survey will help shape The Herald&#8217;s coverage of the industry going forward, which includes the weekly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldscotland.com\/news\/25552701.business-golf-scotland-around-greens\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Around the Greens<\/a> series, spot news stories, and in-depth features.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  It should take no more than 20 minutes to complete, and all responses are strictly confidential unless specifically stated otherwise. The survey is open to every golf course custodian across Scotland \u2013 private members&#8217; clubs, municipal courses, recreational facilities, and pay-and-play venues.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Invitations to take part are being sent out via email on Monday March 30th with a limited time for responses to be returned. If your club or organisation does not received an invitation, please contact <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldscotland.com\/news\/25972238.new-links-history-golf-offer-launches-fife\/mailto:kristy.dorsey@newsquest.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">kristy.dorsey@newsquest.co.uk<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>  Scottish Borders golf at Schloss Roxburghe up 40% with IMG<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>Part of the par-72 course runs along the banks of the River Teviot (Image: Supplied)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Sold to German developer 12.18 Investment Management in 2018, Schloss Roxburghe in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bordertelegraph.com\/local-news\/kelso-news\/?ref=au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Kelso<\/a> trades under the Destination by Hyatt brand and is marketed in large part on the strength of its par-72 championship golf course which will again this year host the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.europeantour.com\/hotelplanner-tour\/farmfoods-scottish-challenge-supported-by-the-r-a-2025\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Farmfoods Scottish Challenge<\/a>, part of the HotelPlanner Tour.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  IMG Golf \u2013 a division of international sports, media and events group IMG \u2013 was enlisted in 2022 to provide sales and marketing support at Schloss Roxburghe and in the spring of 2025 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.img.com\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">IMG<\/a> took over full management of the golf business. Since then, the operation is said to have seen a 40% increase in its financial performance.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Following IMG&#8217;s move into full management, Ross Ovens was promoted to head of golf after more than 25 years&#8217; service at Schloss Roxburghe.
