Josie Gibson is loved by millions for her role on This Morning but has admitted that she is “struggling and stressed” away from the bright lights of her thriving showbiz career<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve seen her locked in the Big Brother<\/a> house and battling her biggest phobia \u2013 spiders \u2013 in the I\u2019m A Celebrity jungle, but thankfully the star was safely in her comfort zone while filming her latest TV show.<\/p>\n

The much-loved presenter is clearly in her element hosting Josie\u2019s Taste Of The West Country<\/a>, which sees the Somerset-based star sampling the specialities of the region. It also meant the mum-of-one was never too far from her seven-year-old son, Reggie James.<\/p>\n

Despite her regular role co-hosting ITV\u2019s This Morning<\/a>, chatting to Josie it\u2019s obvious she\u2019s still very much a homebody who\u2019s happier pottering around her four-bedroom countryside home than soaking up the bright lights of London. And that\u2019s all because of how seriously she takes her role as a mother.<\/p>\n

\u201cI only get to be a mum once and you never get that time back,\u201d she tells us when we ask if she would ever consider a full-time position at This Morning<\/a>. \u201cI need to be down this neck of the woods. I love the West Country. That\u2019s where I\u2019m from. That\u2019s where I feel myself and that\u2019s where I feel like I can grow.\u201d<\/p>\n

Josie isn\u2019t shy about sharing the ups and downs of motherhood with her hundreds of thousands of followers on social media. Asked if she ever feels like a role model to other parents out there, she lets out a self-deprecating laugh Oh, no \u2013 please, no!\u201d she gasps. \u201cMums don\u2019t look up to me. I\u2019m juggling, I\u2019m struggling, I\u2019m stressed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am just like any other mum out there. It\u2019s all a juggle and it\u2019s all a learning curve and I am just trying to hold it together.\u201d<\/p>\n

While he might live far from the glamorous world<\/a> his mum occasionally inhabits, there\u2019s a chance Reggie could one day follow in his mum\u2019s footsteps into showbiz.<\/p>\n

\u201cI took him on the This Morning sofa and I pretended that we were interviewing somebody famous, because we\u2019d had Orlando Bloom in the day before. And now he wants to be a famous actor,\u201d she tells us. \u201cReg can be whatever he wants to be, he can be whoever he wants to be, as long as he\u2019s happy and he\u2019s not hurting anybody.\u201d<\/p>\n

Over the years the star, who turned 41 in January, has navigated the ups and downs of life in the spotlight with dignity and good humour, and while no celebrity is immune from trolling, Josie seems remarkably unfazed by what\u2019s thrown at her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love a bit of hate on social media,\u201d she shrugs. \u201cI think it\u2019s the greatest thing ever. I think if you\u2019re not getting hated by somebody, you\u2019re doing something wrong!\u201d<\/p>\n

In fact, she looks to a certain outspoken role model for inspiration when it comes to dealing with difficult people.<\/p>\n

\u201cI cannot wait to be like Miriam Margolyes,\u201d she says of the famously quick-witted Harry Potter<\/a> actress, 84. \u201cThe older you get, you care less and I just can\u2019t wait to get to Miriam\u2019s stage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Josie has previously hit back at claims she\u2019s had weight loss surgery, saying she doesn\u2019t want to \u201cmess around\u201d with her body. But the star tells us that, as she ages, she\u2019s not afraid to undergo any tweakments, should she choose to.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to do anything that I want to do,\u201d she exclaims. \u201cLike Cher, if I want to put my t*** on my back, then that is up to me!\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite her 15 years in the public eye, Josie claims she still doesn\u2019t feel that famous. Does she really believe people don\u2019t know who she is, after all these years?<\/p>\n

\u201cI get to do an amazing job, I get to work with some incredible people, but I don\u2019t,\u201d she stresses. \u201cI\u2019ve never felt famous. I\u2019ve felt popular, yeah, but I\u2019ve never felt like a celebrity \u2013 even when I was on I\u2019m A Celebrity!\u201d<\/p>\n

She then adds with a laugh, \u201cI\u2019ve still got to speak to my agents about that one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the nation falling in love with her down-to-earth charms all over again, Josie says she doesn\u2019t harbour fond memories of her time in the jungle back in 2023. Seriously?<\/p>\n

\u201cNo! Not at all,\u201d she laughs. \u201cOnly because I\u2019m so scared of spiders \u2013 like, severely. I was just jumping out of my skin all the time. I couldn\u2019t go to the toilet for three weeks, I was scared of spiders. It was just so scary.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked which of her campmates she warmed to, Josie \u2013 who came fourth in her series, which was won by Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson<\/a> \u2013 recalls striking up a sweet bond with Jamie-Lynn Spears, pop icon Britney\u2019s younger sister.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was lovely,\u201d says Josie. \u201cShe even got Reg a present. She got him an Elf on the Shelf, because in the camp I said I don\u2019t do it with him.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo when I got out, she\u2019d wrapped this gift for him \u2013 and it was an Elf on the Shelf. She\u2019s just lovely \u2013 a real family woman.\u201d<\/p>\n

Josie can currently be seen travelling around the West Country as she hosts the five-part series, which takes in Gloucestershire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall and showcases the many culinary delights the region has to offer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always wanted to do a \u2018taste of the West Country\u2019 [show] as a nod to where I live, because it\u2019s just amazing,\u201d she beams. \u201cIt\u2019s a bit like how Dermot O\u2019Leary does his Irish show [Dermot O\u2019Leary\u2019s Taste Of Ireland] and Ainsley Harriott goes all around the Caribbean [in Ainsley\u2019s Caribbean Kitchen]. I just thought, \u2018Well, I\u2019ve got it right here on my doorstep.<\/p>\n

\u201cI learnt about how so much quality food comes out of this neck of the woods. We\u2019ve got watercress farms on our doorstep. That\u2019s going to be the new big food, I think. It\u2019s underrated and it\u2019s a massive superfood.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve also got the best ciders \u2013 obviously we went to a cider farm \u2013 and the best cheese is from down here. The only official Cheddar cheese comes out of Cheddar.\u201d<\/p>\n

Above all, though, Josie delighted in meeting locals who reminded her why her part of the country is so special.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe people I met along the way were so passionate and had such a love for what they do,\u201d she says. \u201cIt was lovely to give them a nod and actually get them recognised, to bring them to the forefront.\u201d<\/p>\n
