Zack Polanski<\/a>, in an unearthed blog post, said he received \u201clots of emails\u201d enquiring about whether his hypnotherapy techniques could be used to boost the size of other body parts after a news article in which he suggested the practice could increase breast size<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Green Party leader<\/a> has faced relentless criticism after he made the controversial remark to a journalist from The Sun in 2013 before entering politics<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a 2019 blog article, \u201cPolitics was never part of the plan\u201d, Mr Polanski said he had been contacted by both men and women seeking similar results.<\/p>\n

\u201cI received lots of emails from women of which I always replied that it wasn\u2019t a service we offered but I\u2019d be happy to have a conversation about positive body image<\/a>,\u201d the former hypnotherapist wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also received, even more emails, from men who wanted to know if it worked on other body parts. Needless to say \u2013 the answer here again was that it wasn\u2019t a service the clinic provided.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI made a mistake which misled people about the work I do with people on body image, and I apologise unreservedly for that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Polanski has since said that he was misrepresented in the initial article, which he said did not communicate the work he carried out as a hypnotherapist.<\/p>\n

However, in the same 2019 article, he wrote: \u201cNone of this is to say that the journalist did a bad job or misrepresented me.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cWhen I saw the article it was clear the attention on body image and being comfortable with exactly how you are was not given the focus I wanted. But that\u2019s a lesson learned.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking to LBC in 2024, when he was deputy leader of the Greens, Mr Polanski was asked about the article and said: \u201cI apologised immediately, the day after the article 11 years ago, to say that doesn\u2019t represent my work\u2026 I apologised because I recognise that can be offensive to people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Polanski has since said that he was misrepresented in the initial article in 2013 (Peter Byrne\/PA)<\/p>\n

When asked in September 2025 whether he believed at the time that hypnosis could enlarge a woman\u2019s breasts, Mr Polanski echoed his stance and said: \u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, a resurfaced BBC Radio Humberside interview from 18 June 2013 \u2013 six days after the initial report \u2013 appears to show Mr Polanski doubling down on his theory.<\/p>\n

\u201cActually, increasingly, more and more as I work with people, there\u2019s starting to become anecdotal evidence, at least, of a growth in breast size,\u201d he told presenter Peter Levy.<\/p>\n

Mr Polanski said he believed \u201cit can happen\u201d and spoke of a \u201csuccessful project\u201d, adding that \u201cat the moment I\u2019m not charging people for breast enhancement\u201d.<\/p>\n
