{"id":504006,"date":"2026-03-30T20:17:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T20:17:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/504006\/"},"modified":"2026-03-30T20:17:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T20:17:08","slug":"easyjet-announces-routes-between-the-united-kingdom-and-the-algarve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/504006\/","title":{"rendered":"easyJet announces routes between the United Kingdom and the Algarve"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the summer, easyJet says it will have \u201ca 3% growth in its capacity in Faro compared to the previous summer, offering a total of 1.7 million seats.\u201d In total, there will be 18 routes, 11 of which connect the United Kingdom to the Algarve.<\/p>\n<p>Flights to Newcastle<\/p>\n<p>In a press release, easyJet says that the big news is \u201cthe inauguration of the route between Faro and Newcastle, in the United Kingdom, which began on 29 March.\u201d According to the company, the new route \u201cstrengthens the region&#8217;s connectivity during the high season and expands options for the British market, one of the main sources of tourists for the Algarve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Developing tourism<\/p>\n<p>Jos\u00e9 Lopes, General Manager of easyJet in Portugal, quoted in the press release, states that the airline is excited \u201cto start another summer season in the Algarve, especially in a year in which we celebrate the fifth anniversary of our base in Faro. Since its inauguration in 2021, this base has been a fundamental pillar of our investment in Portugal, contributing decisively to the development of tourism and the local economy. The increase in capacity and the introduction of the new connection to Newcastle are proof of our commitment to offering more and better connections so that our customers can enjoy everything the Algarve has to offer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Routes from Faro<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Faro-airport.jpg\" class=\"img-fluid\" width=\"800\" data-height=\"600\"\/>Author: ANA &#8211; Aeroportos de Portugal ; <\/p>\n<p>Thus, easyJet will operate flights from Faro to Lyon, Paris Orly, Bordeaux and Nantes, in France. Direct flights to Amsterdam will also be available. For Switzerland, travellers from Faro will be able to travel to and from Geneva and Basel.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding routes to the United Kingdom, travellers can fly with easyJet from the following airports: London Gatwick, London Luton, Bristol, Belfast, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Southend, Southampton, and Newcastle.<\/p>\n<p>Global strategy <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Faro air base is part of easyJet\u2019s global strategy in Portugal, which this summer reaches a capacity of seven million seats. In total, the company will operate 93 routes from Portugal to 14 countries, including the debut of five new routes: Lisbon-Newcastle, Lisbon-Liverpool, Porto-S\u00e3o Vicente, Funchal-Nice, and the aforementioned Faro-Newcastle.
