Shane Lowry will partner up with Brooks Koepka for April’s Zurich Classic, it has been announced.<\/p>\n

The Offaly man, world number 32, won the New Orleans pairs tournament alongside Rory McIlroy in 2024<\/a>, while the close friends finished tied for 12th last year.<\/p>\n

Today’s announcement suggests that McIlroy, who will start the defence of his Masters title on Thursday week, has opted out of the Zurich Classic, which takes place between 23-26 April.<\/p>\n

That leaves 38-year-old Lowry, who sank the winning putt in last year’s Ryder Cup, taking part in the event with five-time major winner Koepka.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old American returned to the PGA Tour earlier this year after spending three years on the LIV Golf tour.<\/p>\n

Lowry, the 2019 Open champion, finished tied for 28th at the Texas Children’s Houston Open at the weekend but carded his fourth hole-in-one<\/a> on the PGA Tour.<\/p>\n

“This should be a most powerful team,” Steve Worthy, CEO of the Fore!Kids Foundation, producer of the tournament, said.<\/p>\n

“Both of these players have won major titles, and both have extensive experience in major international team competitions.”<\/p>\n
