One of the tallest players to represent the\u00a0All Blacks,\u00a0Josh Lord, has secured his future by agreeing to a contract extension with New Zealand Rugby until 2029.<\/p>\n
The 25-year-old second-rower confirmed on Tuesday that he will remain with both the\u00a0Chiefs\u00a0and\u00a0Taranaki, continuing his development in familiar surroundings.<\/p>\n

His form this season has been particularly encouraging, playing a key role in the Chiefs\u2019 strong Super Rugby Pacific performances.<\/p>\n He featured in four of his 12 Test appearances during last year\u2019s northern hemisphere tour, including an influential showing in the win over Scotland, where his athleticism stood out with ball in hand.<\/p>\n Size and athleticism set him apart<\/p>\n At 2.03m, Lord is among the tallest players to ever wear the black jersey. His combination of height, mobility and physical presence makes him a major asset, particularly in the lineout and tight exchanges.<\/p>\n Only slightly shorter than former All Blacks locks Mark Cooksley and Dominic Bird, Lord continues to build a reputation as a modern, dynamic forward since making his Test debut in 2021.<\/p>\n Big years ahead on the international stage<\/p>\n Lord admitted that an exciting run of upcoming international events made the decision to re-sign an easy one.
