This investment will help attract top AI talent, train the next generation of business leaders in data and AI, and meet rising demand for Lakebase<\/a>, Databricks\u2019 serverless Postgres database built for AI agents, and Genie<\/a>, Databricks\u2019 AI agent that lets any employee chat with their data and get trusted answers instantly.<\/p>\n As part of this commitment, Databricks will quadruple its London office footprint with a new 137,000-square-foot headquarters. This state-of-the-art office will act as the company\u2019s new EMEA hub, supporting its continued growth across the region and strengthening partnerships with local customers, which include over 50% of the FTSE 100 Index. Databricks\u2019 new London office will accommodate its growing UK and Ireland team of over 500 people, which is expected to surpass over 1,000 people over the next few years. This new space will have a dedicated executive briefing center to host partners and customers with training and learning events. It will also support the growth of a local R&D team, alongside other key EMEA engineering locations such as Amsterdam, Berlin and Belgrade. Strategically located in Fitzrovia, this expanded space continues to place Databricks at the heart of the UK data and AI ecosystem, strengthening partnerships with many customers in the region, including Unilever, Rolls Royce, Nationwide, Virgin Atlantic, Department for Education, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, Octopus Energy and Flo Health.<\/p>\n
This news builds on Databricks\u2019 plans to train 100,000 people<\/a> across the UK and Ireland with data and AI skills by 2028.
