A man has been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences after a major police incident in Bury<\/a> on Tuesday (March 31). Officers were called to a concern for welfare incident on Limefield Brow at around 10.30am.<\/p>\n

Armed officers raced to the scene and cordoned off the area. A major emergency response was at the scene throughout the morning, including incident response units, fire crews and paramedics, along with police.<\/p>\n

The incident remained ongoing for a number of hours until around 2pm. It was later confirmed a man had been arrested and was taken into custody to be questioned.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police<\/a> said: “A man in his 70s has been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences following an incident on Limefield Brow this morning.<\/p>\n

“This arrest comes after officers responded to reports of a concern for welfare at around 10:30am.
