{"id":505818,"date":"2026-03-31T20:36:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-31T20:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/505818\/"},"modified":"2026-03-31T20:36:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T20:36:08","slug":"re-releases-go-too-far-with-new-ps5-version-of-darksiders-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/505818\/","title":{"rendered":"Re-Releases Go Too Far with New PS5 Version of Darksiders 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The first Darksiders game has been freely available to play on PS5 via backwards compatibility since the console came out, via the original PS4 version of the Warmastered Edition. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/games\/ps4\/darksiders_ii_deathinitive_edition\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Darksiders 2<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/games\/ps4\/darksiders_iii\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Darksiders 3<\/a> can also be played on PS5 using the same feature, and we know <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/games\/ps5\/darksiders_4\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Darksiders 4<\/a> is now in active development.<\/p>\n<p>THQ Nordic actually <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/news\/2024\/09\/thq-nordic-announces-ps5-port-of-ps4-remaster-of-ps3-action-game-darksiders-2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pulled a similar stunt for Darksiders 2<\/a> in 2024, when the remastered Deathinitive Edition of the sequel got a PS5 version. A free PS4 to PS5 upgrade was offered in that situation, so you&#8217;d like to think it&#8217;ll be the same for the Warmastered Edition. It&#8217;s $29.99 if you don&#8217;t already own the game.<\/p>\n<p>All the way back in 2016, we gave the PS4 version of Darksiders: Warmastered Edition an 8\/10 rating, calling it a &#8220;fantasy world that retains its wonder&#8221; at the time. Now, 10 years later, the game is back with a modern version&#8230; for some reason.<\/p>\n<p>Who asked for this re-release of Darksiders: Warmastered Edition on PS5?
