Anne Hathaway has multiple ginormous projects this year, including Christopher Nolan\u2019s The Odyssey<\/a> and The Devil Wears Prada 2<\/a>. But the cool kids know that the real thing to anticipate is her upcoming art-house drama Mother Mary. The film, written and directed by David Lowery (The Green Knight<\/a>), finds the glorious middle ground between \u201chaunting\u201d and \u201cslay.\u201d The trailer is narrated by Hathaway\u2019s ominous co-star, Michaela Coel. \u201cYou are standing under the lights,\u201d she says as Hathaway, with cool-as-hell bleached brows, stares at herself in the mirror. \u201cYou are doing what you\u2019re born to do,\u201d she says. The speech is intercut with shots of Hathaway performing \u201cMy Mouth Is Lonely for You,\u201d an original song for the film written by avant-pop icon FKA twigs.<\/p>\n Toward the end of the trailer, the tone shifts toward horror. \u201cWe\u2019re reinventing you,\u201d Coel says. Then thunder crashes and a hand with an open wound gets gouged open. Then, a brief shot of Hathaway running through an open hallway. It\u2019s a pop-music disaster!<\/p>\n Mother Mary also stars Hunter Schafer, Kaia Gerber, and Atheena Frizzell. Along with Twigs, the music is written by Charli XCX and Jack Antonoff. It premieres in theaters this April.
