Enzo Fernandez has been told to \u201cf*** off\u201d after \u201cdisrespecting\u201d the Chelsea fans with his Real Madrid flirting while Moises Caicedo is \u201cgone\u201d if he gets a call from Florentino Perez.<\/p>\n
When asked recently if he would be at Chelsea next season, Fernandez said: \u201cI don\u2019t know, there are eight games left and then the FA Cup. Then there\u2019s the World Cup, and then we\u2019ll see.\u201d<\/p>\n
In an interview over the weekend with Marcos Giles and Infobae, Fernandez<\/a> insisted he would like to move to Madrid at some point in the future.<\/p>\n He said<\/a>: \u201cI\u2019d like to experience, I don\u2019t know, live there. I really like Madrid, it reminds me a lot of Buenos Aires.\u201d<\/p>\n Mikel, who won ten major trophies in his time at Chelsea including two Premier League titles and the Champions League, didn\u2019t mince his words in response to Fernandez\u2019s come-and-get-me plea.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s not a leader,\u201d Obi Mikel said of Fernandez\u2019s remarks on The Obi One Podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s something where if you have leaders, if you have leaders that players respect and look up to, you wouldn\u2019t come out and make those statements because you\u2019d be thinking, \u2018How is this going to go down in the dressing room? The leadership is not there.<\/p>\n \u201cSo he thinks, \u2018I can come out, say whatever the f*** I want, no one is going to hold me responsible\u2019, and that\u2019s exactly what happened.<\/p>\n \u201cI have to say about Enzo Fernandez that his progression at the football club started getting better.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen we signed him, everyone was questioning it. But he had a good season last season and he scored a few goals, he was arriving late in the box, getting goals and winning us games.<\/p>\n \u201cBut for him to come out and make such a statement after we\u2019ve been disgracefully dumped out of the Champions League, and you come out after wearing the captain\u2019s armband\u2026 no player is bigger than the football club.<\/p>\n \u201cIf he\u2019s had enough, put your hands up, f*** off and we move on. We move on.<\/p>\n \u201cNo player is bigger than the football club, especially a club as huge as Chelsea.<\/p>\n \u201cYou cannot come out and say that, it doesn\u2019t matter what is going on. It doesn\u2019t matter what is happening, you\u2019re being paid handsomely to be at this football club, you should be grateful that you\u2019re playing for a club like Chelsea.<\/p>\n \u201cI can understand, a little bit, his frustration, but you still have to respect the badge, you still have to respect the football club, you still have to respect the fans.<\/p>\n \u201cThe fans are the ones who pay your wages. When you come out and make that statement, that is very, very disrespectful to the football club and to the fans.\u201d<\/p>\n Mikel insists Chelsea need to find a better balance between youth and experience or four of their best stars will leave the club.<\/p>\n \u201cThe strategy of the football club right now is bringing in young players, but where is the experience?\u2019 he went on.<\/p>\n \u201cYou need a bit of experience to guide these young players because this is the Premier League, this is the most difficult league in the world.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen you bring in those young players from Brazil, Spain, Africa, wherever you\u2019re bringing them from, this is a difficult, difficult league, this is the most difficult league in the world.<\/p>\n \u201cThey need somebody in the game, on the pitch, to be able to guide them when the game is tough, when the game is difficult.<\/p>\n \u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter how good you are as a young player, this is the Premier League and it will eat you up. You need a bit of experience to be able to guide you through games.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen you don\u2019t have that, you struggle, you will struggle massively, so, for me, the strategy of the football club is to bring in those young players\u2026 but you still need experience.<\/p>\n \u201cYou need a mixture of whatever you need to do and still keep the culture of the football club which is winning trophies.<\/p>\n \u201cRight now, we have players like Cole Palmer, players like Enzo Fernandez, Marc Cucurella<\/a>, Moises Caicedo\u2026 when they start getting phone calls from the likes of Real Madrid\u2026<\/p>\n \u201cFlorentino Perez [Real Madrid president] is a master in stealing players from clubs. He puts in this bid and you can\u2019t refuse, you can\u2019t refuse a phone call from Florentino Perez.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s why I question it [Chelsea\u2019s current model] and that\u2019s why I say: what is the objective? The objective of this club has to be winning, winning trophies.<\/p>\n \u201cWe don\u2019t want to become a club like Arsenal where it\u2019s taken them 22 years to be on the verge of winning the Premier League. We don\u2019t want to be that.<\/p>\n \u201cWe don\u2019t want to become that sort of club, we want to be back winning the Premier League, because the Premier League is the creme de la creme.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve been so spoiled winning these types of trophies so I don\u2019t know the objectives of the football club. The owners have to come out and tell everybody what is the aim of the football club. It\u2019s as simple as that because the fans have the right to know.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd when you have these players, there\u2019s no smoke without fire.
