{"id":508459,"date":"2026-04-02T06:09:14","date_gmt":"2026-04-02T06:09:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/508459\/"},"modified":"2026-04-02T06:09:14","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T06:09:14","slug":"artemis-ii-flight-update-crew-and-ground-teams-successfully-troubleshoot-orions-toilet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/508459\/","title":{"rendered":"Artemis II Flight Update: Crew and Ground Teams Successfully Troubleshoot Orion\u2019s Toilet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/mission\/artemis-ii\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Artemis II<\/a> crew, working closely with mission control in Houston, were able to restore the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/humans-in-space\/orion-spacecraft\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Orion<\/a> spacecraft\u2019s toilet to normal operations following the proximity operations demonstration.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the apogee raise burn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/blogs\/missions\/2026\/04\/01\/artemis-ii-flight-update-apogee-raise-burn-complete-crew-looks-ahead-to-proximity-operations\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">on April 1<\/a>, the Artemis II crew reported a blinking fault light and mission control teams successfully assessed the data and worked with the crew to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.<\/p>\n<p>The crew now will take a four-hour nap and be awakened at 7 a.m. EDT on Thursday, April 2, to prepare for the perigee raise burn. This burn will lift the lowest point of Orion\u2019s orbit around Earth. Together with the apogee raise burn completed earlier, these burns shape the spacecraft\u2019s initial orbit and prepare it for later translunar operations.
