\n Police are appealing for information from the public to help find him.\n<\/p>\n
\n Dorset Police received a report shortly before 5.30pm today that 32-year-old Jason Evans had made off from a prisoner transport vehicle in Poole Road in Poole.\n<\/p>\n
\n Officers have attended the location and are carrying out detailed searches in the area, with assistance from the NPAS helicopter.\n<\/p>\n
\n Evans was charged with assault and other offences and had appeared at Poole Magistrates\u2019 Court today where he was remanded by the court.\n<\/p>\n
\n He is described as white, 5ft 8ins tall and of medium build with ginger hair and was last seen wearing grey clothing.\n<\/p>\n
\n Superintendent Joe Pardey, of Dorset Police, said: \u201cI would like to reassure members of the public that we have officers carrying out searches and other enquiries in a bid to locate Jason Evans as soon as possible and return him to lawful custody.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cI would urge anyone who has seen a man in the area who matches the description given above and appears to be avoiding detection to please come forward.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cWe would ask the public not to approach him directly and to please dial 999 immediately.\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cThere will be an extensive police presence in the area as we carry out these enquiries and officers can be approached by members of the community with any concerns.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
