{"id":510399,"date":"2026-04-03T07:49:31","date_gmt":"2026-04-03T07:49:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/510399\/"},"modified":"2026-04-03T07:49:31","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T07:49:31","slug":"aig-ceo-doubles-down-on-ai-strategy-amid-complex-risk-landscape","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/510399\/","title":{"rendered":"AIG CEO doubles down on AI strategy amid complex risk landscape"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a letter to shareholders accompanying AIG\u2019s annual report, chairman and CEO Peter Zaffino emphasised the firm\u2019s commitment to accelerating its AI strategy and strengthening long-term growth.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-118728\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/peter-zaffino-aig-ceo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"263\"  \/>He framed this ambition against an increasingly complex operating environment, shaped by an evolving risk landscape, geopolitical tensions, persistent inflation uncertainty, heightened catastrophe activity, and rapid technological change.<\/p>\n<p>Zaffino described 2025 as a milestone year for AIG, highlighting the firm\u2019s delivery on its strategic, operational and financial priorities while positioning the business for a strong future.<\/p>\n<p>The CEO also pointed to the pace of technological change over the past year, noting that breakthroughs in large language models, computing power, and agentic and autonomous AI are fundamentally reshaping how risk is assessed and managed, developments that Zaffino said are \u201cunlike anything we have seen in our lifetimes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Zaffino continued, \u201cAgainst this backdrop, we maintained our commitment to underwriting excellence and disciplined capital management, invested in our future and strengthened our balance sheet, ending the year with tremendous financial flexibility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese results are the direct outcome of years of disciplined execution and the hard work of colleagues across AIG.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Toward the end of last year, Zaffino said the firm was continuing to execute at pace, accelerating its AI strategy while strengthening growth prospects through a series of strategic moves.<\/p>\n<p>These included <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reinsurancene.ws\/aig-completes-minority-stake-acquisitions-in-convex-and-onex\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">investments in Convex Group and Onex Corporation<\/a>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reinsurancene.ws\/aig-to-acquire-renewal-rights-for-majority-of-everests-commercial-retail-businesses\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">renewal rights agreement with Everest<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reinsurancene.ws\/aig-partners-with-amwins-and-blackstone-to-launch-new-lloyds-syndicate\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">launch of a novel special purpose vehicle in partnership with Blackstone, Amwins Group and Palantir<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese initiatives expand our capabilities and position us to capture new opportunities,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The CEO\u2019s letter concluded, \u201cNone of this would be possible without the dedication of our incredible colleagues around the world.
